Even though "A Good Man is Hard to Find" is seemingly told through the perspective of an objective narrator, it still offers insight into the mind of the grandmother through what is called third person limited.Third person limited only reveals one of the characters' emotions and thoughts to the reader.

Through this writing style, the narrator and the grandmother unveil several recurring themes throughout the course of the story such as: prejudice vs tolerance, God and religion, violence and cruelty, the definition of a good man as well as several others. Using either one of the themes shown above or one that you found within your group discussions, write an analysis showing the author's intent and purpose for these themes. Be sure not to summarize the course of events, but rather give a detailed analysis of what O'Connor was trying to convey through her writing.
